Kidney donation is the process of a person allowing a kidney to be remove from their body and transplanted to another person, usually to treat kidney failure, Kidney donation has been argued to be a high effective way to increase human health.

Finding an ideal Kidney match, there are two type of kidney Donors;

Living Donor; Elects to donate one of their Kidney and undergo Surgery for it removal.
Decease Donor; Allow usable Organs to be Donated at their death.

Test are needed to determine if the donor and recipient are a good match to help increase the chances of a successful transplant.

There are three test;
Blood type matching
Tissue matching
Cross matching

Tissue matching ; Measure and defines certain proteins, Celled Antigens, present in the patient and potential donor’s blood and tissue proteins.

Cross matching; Performed by mixing a small amount of the patient’s and potential donor’s cell
